Seven of Nine discovers a Borg dream world, and Janeway decides to use it to destroy the Borg.
Rarely has a cliffhanger annoyed me quite this much. Janeway et al have a special secret plan that requires them to get assimilated? Pretty sure that’s going to turn out to be one of the stupidest plans ever planned. There’s a whole part two coming, but if it can make me think this plan *isn’t* stupid I’ll be amazed.
As for the rest, it’s a standard ‘previously unknown Borg feature’ stuff. It seems like the writers aren’t interested enough in the Borg, we have to add new features every time ? Borg queens, fights with unstoppable alien races, Transwarp conduits. The best Borg stories have been the ones like *I, Borg* or *Best of Both Worlds*, which are just the Borg without the fancy add ons. The Borg dream world is very boring, and adds little here. The idea of a Borg civil war is potentially interesting,but the setup undermines it.
