Even animated Trek needs two-parters. Spoilers.
Nine names in the writing credits. Not normally a good sign.
Largely a pretty good sequence of Star Trek-y action sequences, with the main philosophical core being the Gwyn/Diviner debate. Unfortunately the Gwyn scenes are just a bit confusing. For instance, it’s just not clear to me how much ‘is playing along while the villain rants’ and how much is ‘you’re my father and I can’t help but trust you’.
Overall it’s a nice resolution to what’s set up in Part 1, plus a bit of bread crumb setting for the rest of the season. But largely plot mechanics, and not much else in the way of character advancement. So low calorie, but well put together.
837 down.
