Troi loses her power – honestly, if she hadn’t said something would anyone have noticed?
As it turns out, we should all be grateful for Troi’s empathic sense. Because it seems thats all that’s standing between the crew and a whiny, mopey person who gives up at the slightest challenge.
As any reader of these reviews would know, I’m not a big fan of Commander Troi’s character. This episode didn’t help this one bit, although it was a valiant attempt to ‘humanise’ her.
An aside: Data’s thing about giving long time intervals to the nearest second: surely someone has trained him to know about [significant figures](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Significant_figures) and superfluous precision.
