An interesting opportunity to explore ‘what does it mean to be a changeling’ without the baggage of the Founders and their objectives. The new changeling is a bit of a dick about it, but that’s part of the point. We do manage to get a good sense of a real struggle for Odo coming from his desire to be with his own kind. If I was Kira, I wouldn’t be picking out wedding china.
Sadly, the end is undermined by some George Lucas-level bad romantic writing. Seriously, just find someone who’s ever been in love to write those scenes.
