The Doctor goes on a house call to the Alpha quadrant.
So, to get this straight – this episode stars Robert Picardo as the Doctor, guest stars Robert Picardo as Lewis Zimmerman, and was written by Robert Picardo as well? Was he too busy to direct?
It’s a fairly good episode, which works best if you an remember just what a difficult personality the Doctor was back in Season One. But I was a little annoyed that the implications of regular contact with the Alpha quadrant were given short shrift, in a single Janeway/Chakotay scene. It’s really a pretty significant change in the setup for the crew, so I hope it is recognised appropriately in future episodes.
