If fast forward is outlawed, only outlaws will have fast forward buttons!
Actually, the big problem here (as pointed out in the story) is that Australia is a tiny minnow when it comes to consumer electronics like this. The manufacturers would rather say ‘no thanks’ than make concessions here. We simply don’t matter enough. So they can huff and they can puff, but nothing is going to change.
